Royal Black X Chilli Seeds. The Royal Black X (C. Annuum) is a hybrid and unstable cultivar that is as a result of an unintentional cross between the standard Royal Black cultivar and another C. Annuum. It is believed this may be a cayenne variety. We have made these seeds available due to their absolute striking beauty. It needs to be said that this cultivar is unstable and future growth habits will be undeterminable at this stage. We will be growing this hybrid out over the next few years to try and stabilized some of these traits, but for now, we are making these seeds available to anyone wishing to experiment.

Being a hybrid, growth and yield on this cultivar are extemporary. Bushy dark growth with dense wispy foliage. Pods have a cayenne shape and ripen from yet black to Red with Black variegation that is most striking.

Heat and flavour are very much in line with cayenne/thai style chillies. Sharp heat that ranges in the 80,000 – 120,000 SHU. Definitely a chilli that can be utilized in kitchen. Our plant was well suited to container growing, producing a small to medium sized plant that produced a growth of roughly 40x40x40 cm.
