Cumari Do Para

Cumari do Para chilli seeds. This is a Cumari that comes from the state of Para, Brazil. A small to medium sized C. Chinense variety. A very sought after but very rare variety. Germination can be tricky, growth is consistent and materializing in a compact and very bushy plant with dense foliage. A really awesome producer, pods are like giant jelly beans that ripen from a grass green to the most brilliant yellow colour once fully ripe. Pods contain about 10 - 15 seeds. The fruits are thin skinned and crunchy with some placenta. The most noticeable thing when you cut open a Cumari is the aroma. This has to be the ultimate aroma of any chilli. Sweet, citrus with an intense butterscotch and musk scent. Simply to die for! The flavour of the Cumari do Para is unmistakeably Scotch Bonnet. Tropical, fruity, citrus, sweet. Again - absolutely delicious! The burn is well rounded and firm. These little pods dish out a very decent burn that will rival any Habanero. A pleasant - just perfect burn for the average chillihead. The beauty is the longevity of the burn. This is one of those chillies where the burn just goes on and on. This chilli is a beautiful plant with its lovely compact bushy plant structure. The striking yellow jellybean pods make this plant esthetically pleasing. It is very hard to come by and from a culinary point of view, this chilli is the bees knees. It's got the right heat, an awesome burn and an aroma and flavour that is just divine. Great to be used fresh and in our humble opinion, makes one of the most sublime chilli powders you will ever come across. This is one of those gems in the world of chillies that has to be experienced - if you can get hold of the seeds :)
